System C Strengthens Management Team with the Appointment of Nick Wilson as CEO.

13th April 2022

UK health and social care software specialist, System C, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Wilson as CEO, effective 9 May 2022.

Nick was previously CEO at Allocate Software, an international provider of workforce and resource planning solutions supporting the operational and administrative needs of the healthcare, defence, and maritime sectors. Nick is well known across the NHS and as a software CEO with a proven track record of growing businesses organically and through M&A, leveraging his strengths in operational delivery and customer experience. He is joining at a critical time as hospitals across the UK accelerate their moves to full Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems.

Co-Founders and current CEOs Ian Denley and Markus Bolton will continue on the Board of System C as Non-Executive Directors and will be focussed on the strategic activities of the company and on driving the wider System C and Graphnet Care Alliance.

System C has trebled in size over the last five years, becoming a leading provider of software to the hospital, social care, and public health sectors in the UK. The company provides a full clinical and administration system (CareFlow EPR), which has doubled its user base to 30 NHS Trusts, while over half of NHS Trusts use its pharmacy systems and the company is market leader in Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA). The business is currently supporting several Trusts as they progress towards HIMSS 6/7, with the CareFlow EPR having all of the components required to meet those levels.

System C has also delivered the National Immunisation Management System (NIMS) which manages the COVID & flu vaccination programmes across England and has expanded its child health coverage to nearly 60% of English children. The Liquidlogic subsidiary provides adults’ and/or children’s social care systems to 90 councils.

Incoming CEO, Nick Wilson said: “I am looking forward to joining System C and to working with the team as we seek to continue to serve our customers and grow the business. Health and social care secretary, Sajid Javid, has made frontline digitisation a key priority and as the principal British provider of these services we will be very focused on responding to that challenge.”

Markus Bolton said: “The pace of NHS digitisation is increasing exponentially due to improved central funding and the new ICS structures. System C is investing heavily and adapting rapidly to meet these new opportunities. The appointment of Nick as CEO is a key move in driving the continued growth of the business.”

Ian Denley said: “We have invested over £200m in expanding the scope and depth of our hospital EPR systems and the requirements continue to grow.  We are delighted to be appointing a CEO with such deep experience of managing a healthcare software business at this exciting time. System C celebrates its 40th birthday next year and we are looking forward to working with Nick on the next stage of its journey.”
