Extension to Early Years Funding Focus Group - Part Three

Significant changes to Early Years Funding were identified in the government’s spring budget which will require changes to the Education (EYES) system, likely impacting most areas of the Early Years Funding functionality to a greater or lesser degree. At a high level, the changes relate to the ages that children become eligible for funding and the amount of funding these children receive based upon their circumstances. At its core, EYES Early Years functionality already provides the structure for payments to providers for existing funding, and to claim this funding back through the Early Years Census. It is not expected that this general claim/payment structure of reclaim structure will change, although this is yet to be confirmed. If this assumption proves to be true, EYES needs to allow Local Authorities and providers to claim for a wider range of children/age ranges, with different funding entitlements. This session will be to review the proposed changes to our application to support these changes from government. This session is directly after our next major supplier meeting with the DfE so we can feedback to customers on any output on this as well as update on the release and rollout for the extension changes.
