System C Partner Scoops Award for Patient Safety Innovation

A research study, which is using System C’s CareFlow Vitals, has picked up an award for patient safety innovation at the North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards.

The Dynamic Electronic Tracking and Escalation to reduce Critical Care Transfers (DETECT) study is a pioneering research programme to identify early warning signs of deterioration in children with the aim of reducing emergency admissions to critical care.

Judges of the category were looking for research that demonstrates the development and implementation of an innovation that has seen an improvement in the safety of patients.

The collaborative study involving Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, The University of Liverpool, Edge Hill University, Lancaster University and System C was also a finalist in two other categories: research student of the year (Gerri Sefton) and research team of the year (DETECT research team).

The study also won the HTN People and Partnership Award for most promising solution in January and is due to be presented at the Child Health Technology 2020 conference in May.
