System C Creates New Senior Management Role to Spearhead Product Development.

7th March 2023

System C has created a new role within the senior management team to drive product strategy across the company’s leading healthcare, social care and education management solutions. Julie O’Connor has been appointed to the new role of Chief Product Officer (CPO) and joined the company at the beginning of February.

Julie has extensive health and care product management experience spanning 20 years with a proven track record in product/programme delivery from inception to user adoption.

Before joining System C, Julie was Product Director at health and care software provider, Servelec, now part of The Access Group. The group acquired Servelec to create an integrated health and social care offering and Julie was responsible for leading the social care product strategy.

Prior to Servelec, Julie held product-focused roles at software provider, Advanced, including Head of Product Management for Healthcare and Head of Mobile and BI Product Management.

The pivotal CPO role will head up a new company-wide product management function spanning the health and social care divisions. The team will be responsible for owning and guiding the product strategy and vision, to ensure System C’s software portfolio meets its mission of delivering technology with the power to transform health and care outcomes for all.

System C’s portfolio includes the CareFlow EPR, a full clinical and administration system that can handle every aspect of patient care, safety, and flow;  market-leading hospital pharmacy and medicines management solutions across 350+ hospitals; and the National Immunisation Management System for Covid and flu vaccination.

The business is also the fastest growing supplier in social care with 60% of councils using its Liquidlogic children’s and adults’ social care systems.

Since System C was founded, it has grown to become one of the country’s leading providers of health and social care technology. Julie’s appointment is an exciting development that will build on this success by driving product innovations to add value for our customers as they progress with their digitisation journeys.

New System C CPO, Julie O’Connor commented: "Integrated digital solutions such as System C’s, are powerful tools with huge potential to transform health and care outcomes. I’m looking forward to getting to know the product team and working together to harness that power to support services and service users.”

Nick Wilson, System C’s CEO, said: "It’s a pleasure to have Julie join the business. Our focus is on supporting health and care services to achieve digital excellence and the increasing operational pressures those sectors are facing makes it even more important to enable digital change to gain time and cost savings. Julie and the new team will be instrumental in steering product innovation and adding value to support our users in this way."
