System C Makes Major Staff Investment to Support Volume Deployments of Clinical Systems.

System C is embarking on a major recruitment campaign in support of the widespread roll-out of its clinical systems.

The company is looking for up to 30 additional specialists to join its existing technical and product teams. 

The recruitment campaign follows news that many of the company’s customers are adopting System C’s blueprint for digital transformation, moving from being ‘PAS-plus’ users of System C’s software to deploying the company’s full electronic patient record. 

Ian Denley, joint chief executive of System C, explained: “We are really pleased to be now ramping up delivery.  It is great to see customers so enthusiastic about the products we’ve designed in our clinical systems development programme over the last few years." 

He continued: “We are looking forward to finding out more about the new ‘digital aspirant’ programme that the Secretary of State for Health has signposted.  It’s our experience that Trusts are very much focused on improving their digital maturity, and we are pleased that our blueprint supports them in their ambition.”

A significant number of System C’s customers are already taking advantage of its EPR’s flexibility to build up their digital maturity incrementally - adding clinical modules in a phased programme.  Others are adopting a ‘big bang’ approach. 

Recently announced blueprint deployments include Walsall, St Helens & Knowsley, Barnsley, North Middlesex and Kettering.

A British company, System C has specialised exclusively in health and social care tech since 1993 - in the acute sector, notably as supplier of the Medway PAS and associated hospital software, and of the CareFlow clinical systems.

The company has now announced that it is rebranding its EPR under the single brand CareFlow.  The name Medway will be phased out.

“We’ve been transforming from being a ‘PAS-plus’ supplier, to a supplier of a full-blown EPR. The adoption of the single brand ‘CareFlow’ is part of this process,” Denley commented. 

As part of its recruitment drive, System C is looking to hire people experienced in the following areas: Technical Projects, Integration, Data Migration, Project Managers, Implementation Specialists, Service Delivery Managers and Support Analysts.

The company is also looking for more clinical implementation specialists.

“We’ve always made it a priority to employ clinicians and former NHS staff on the design, development and deployment of our software and we are continuing to develop this”, Denley explained.   

System C employs numerous clinicians directly, and also set up a ‘clinical adoption team’ of senior clinicians recruited specifically to help customers accelerate the clinical adoption of the product suites and to maximise the products’ potential within their organisations.

The company has also established a new Clinical Engagement Group. This is a formal clinical community of System C’s NHS users, open to all CCIOs, CNIOs, and clinical leads across the System C customer base. Their remit is to provide expert clinical opinion on all aspects of System C’s clinical systems development roadmap and strategic direction. 

The EPR rebranding to CareFlow means that System C has four distinct product areas: EPR (CareFlow), child health (CarePlus), social care (Liquidlogic) and independent treatment centres (Proxima). It also sells the CareCentric shared care record.
