Today, we announced our artificial intelligence (AI) strategy for the next 12 months. Unveiled to more than 500 customers at UserCon, our annual customer conference, the strategy sets out a clear programme of practical, user-focused innovation designed to support frontline teams, improve patient flow and deliver measurable productivity benefits across health and social care.
Grounded in our deep domain expertise and role as a provider of critical infrastructure across the NHS and local government, the strategy reflects the realities facing organisations today and is shaped by three core principles: AI with purpose, ethical by design, and human first. These principles guide how AI is developed and deployed across our portfolio, ensuring it is safe, transparent and designed to support, not replace, clinical and professional judgement.
Expansion of Liquidlogic AI-enabled Functionality
The 12-month programme extends the use of AI across key pathways and care settings, building on deployments already live within the NHS and local government. This includes the expansion of Liquidlogic social care case management system, extending its existing AI-enabled functionality to support intelligent email referrals, alongside the introduction of InFlow for intelligent intake, triage and decision support, and CaseFlow for AI-supported case coordination, summarisation and risk insight.
Introducing Brand-New AI Functionality Across our Healthcare Offerings
In the Autumn, CareFlow EPR’s existing Ambient AI functionality will be expanded to cover Emergency Care, supporting clinicians in high-pressure, time-critical environments by reducing documentation burden while maintaining safe, fully integrated workflows.
Maternity AI developments will follow, with the launch of BadgerNet Ambient AI. Shaped in close consultation with clinicians and customers, the functionality will focus on supporting safety-critical care and ensuring the woman’s voice remains central throughout the maternity pathway.
Throughout, the focus is on deep integration into core systems, rather than standalone tools, enabling adoption at scale without adding complexity. This integration is a critical component for realising true savings, whilst avoiding any duplication of effort.
Introducing the 12-month AI Strategy at UserCon 2026
“Announcing this strategy at System C UserCon demonstrates our commitment to improving health and care outcomes for all,” said Gian Celino, Chief Product Officer at System C. “It reflects how our approach to AI is shaped by our customers and by the realities of health and care delivery. Our focus is on the practical application of AI that helps organisations unlock capacity, improve productivity and support better care outcomes. We pride ourselves on being able to demonstrate a tangible return on investment in all our AI developments.”
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to Become First to Implement CareFlow EPR Ambient AI
In April, it was announced that Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust will become the first NHS organisation to sign a contract to implement our CareFlow EPR Ambient AI Outpatient module, with others closely following. The solution, which is available now, supports clinicians by reducing administrative burden and streamlining documentation as part of routine outpatient workflows.
Deployed Across 15 Local Authority Teams
In social care, organisations using FormFlow, part of Liquidlogic’s AI suite, have already reported documentation time cut by half and capacity for at least 40% more assessment work using existing resources. Now deployed across 15 local authority teams in England, the technology supports practitioners to focus on professional judgement and the people they support, while reducing administrative workload.
By combining ethical design, deep integration and close partnership with customers, our 12-month AI programme is focused on solving the challenges organisations face now, while laying the foundations for more joined-up, productive care across health and social care.
