Our Commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance

As a technology business, supporting the NHS and Local Authorities, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment, our communities, and the economy, to improve people’s lives and preserve our planet.

As part of our sustainability journey, every year we complete a thorough assessment of our business practices through EcoVadis, the global standard for business sustainability ratings.

The Environment

Here at System C, we recognise the importance of reducing the greenhouse gas emissions from our activities in support of the wider commitment to limit global temperature increases and the impact on the planet.

This is an ongoing journey, and we aim to continuously improve each year, here's a snapshot of what we've achieved so far:

  • A signatory member of the Network Net Zero community and pledged to the Race to Zero.
  • Completed an ESG Materiality Assessment to help us identify our strengths and where we can make improvements.
  • Submitted our Carbon Reduction Plan in line with our validated SBTi near-term and Net Zero targets.
  • Completed the Schneider Electric Greenhouse Gases Foundation and Accelerator Programmes to baseline our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and set near-term science-based GHG reduction targets.
  • Achieved validation by SBTi for our near-term (2030) GHG reduction targets.
  • Committed to completing the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment in March 2025.

Here are just some of the ways we give back:

  • We consciously donate to charities that mean something to us.
  • We sponsor the Florence Nightingale Foundation Trust, supporting leadership development programmes for aspiring digital career nurses, midwives and Allied Health Professionals.
  • We support employment by committing to creating job opportunities within the UK.
  • We encourage participation in Social Value activities by communicating our Social Value efforts and raising awareness among staff, customers, and stakeholders.

Social Value

We are committed to improving health and care for UK citizens through our products and our cloud technology. We strongly believe in our responsibility to look after our people and wider communities through our social value initiatives.

 Our Organisation & Governance

Clinical Safety, Data Privacy and Risk Management are at the core of everything we do. Robust governance underpins the clinical safety of our products and services, data governance ensures our client records are secure and corporate governance provides policies and procedures for best practice in how we operate.

Here are just a few of the ways in which we manage this:

  • We aim to offer equal opportunities, fair pay and a competitive benefits package. Our 2023 Gender Pay Gap report shows our pay performance considerably exceeds national and sector averages, though we recognize there’s always room for improvement.
  • We publish our Modern Slavery Policy in line with UK Government legislation.
  • We ensure that our procurement and contracting processes support our ESG strategy.
