We are proud to announce that our 50th site has officially gone live with BadgerNet Neonatal Electronic Patient Record (EPR) this month. This achievement marks a significant step forward in improving neonatal care and data management across the UK.
A Year of Growth and Impact
This year alone, we have successfully launched and deployed BadgerNet Neonatal EPR at 12 new sites, demonstrating our commitment to supporting clinicians and families with a robust, integrated digital solution. Each of these go-live represents countless hours of collaboration, training, and dedication from our teams, healthcare professionals, clinicians and administrative staff.

Transforming Neonatal Care
With 50 sites now live with BadgerNet Neonatal EPR, thousands of babies and families are benefiting from improved continuity of care, accurate data capture, and streamlined workflows for healthcare professionals.
“BadgerNet EPR makes care more efficient as we can prep all the parents’ communication applicable for their baby. We can develop a PDF document if need be.” says Prakash Loganathan, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Melanie Hendry, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital said: “One of my favourite things from a neonatal person, is the fact that I’ve got such easy access to the maternal records for full view and neonatal systems, so you can move between the two fairly seamlessly, and get a very good picture of what’s going on with the mum and the baby.”
Why This Matters
Neonatal units are under significant pressure to make decisions rapidly to ensure the best possible patient care; however, having access to the complete clinical context is a huge barrier to this. Coupled with delays which often occur in transfers, neonatal teams spend more time than necessary worrying about safe and accurate documentation, which could be spent on care. With BadgerNet Neonatal EPR, clinical risk is reduced through high-quality data capture at point of care, providing neonatal teams with instant visibility into the baby’s clinical status. BadgerNet Neonatal EPR enables teams to document all care within the same record contemporaneously, continuing the baby’s record, reducing paper, saving time and improving clinical safety.

The system also offers configurable care plans and task lists, detailed charting for observations and fluids, and automatic data capture from devices like ventilators and pumps. Seamless integration with hospital systems and lab services ensures smooth data flow and electronic discharge letters.
The system supports families by helping them to stay informed through features like Baby Diary and parent reports, while clinicians benefit from mobile access via iPad for quick and convenient documentation. These capabilities support compliance with UK best practice guidelines and enhance family-centred care.
