Circle Health Group, the UK’s largest independent hospital group, has finalised a multi-year contract with System C to deliver a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. CareFlow EPR will be rolled out at its 54 hospitals and clinics, which care for more than 2 million patients per year.

The implementation plan is underway now, with the first phase expected to go live in June 2023. It will play a significant role in the group’s digital strategy as it progresses towards Stage 6 of the international HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) standard.

A Commitment to Exceptional Patient Care

Ben Lloyd, Chief Integration Officer at Circle Health Group commented:

“Everything we do at Circle is focused on providing the people in our care with the best possible experience. There is no room for compromise, and that is the motivation for the digital transformation programme that we have embarked upon. Streamlined, simpler processes, and the use of mobile technology, will allow our staff to spend more time doing what they joined the profession to do – providing our patients with exceptional care.”

Circle Health Group offers the UK’s largest national network of private hospitals, and also provides innovative neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation services and pathway management services.

Reducing Paper & Environmental Impact

The EPR system will reduce the volume of paper records that are needed, enabling Circle Health Group to move towards being paper free at the point of care. As well as dramatically reducing the amount of admin, releasing more time for patient care, this will also support Circle’s commitment to lessening its impact on the environment.

Enhancing Patient Care Through Technology

Circle’s purpose is to provide the high quality, safe and compassionate care its patients need and expect.  The CareFlow EPR solution supports this purpose and includes, but is not limited to, outpatients, theatres, e-prescribing, clinical support, critical care, bed management, eObservations, patient portal and clinical documentation. Once complete, the digital transformation programme will provide Circle’s 8,200+ staff with the right information at the right time to deliver the best possible care

CEO of System C on the Partnership

Nick Wilson, CEO of System C, said:

“We are delighted to be working with Circle Health Group, which is so widely regarded throughout the UK for its commitment to clinical excellence and patient care. We share their vision of putting patients firmly at the centre of everything that we do and look forward to working on this project together, to enable staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for their patients.”
