Chloe Osborne has been a registered paediatric nurse since 2012; Chloe trained at King’s College London and has spent over a decade working in one of London’s busiest Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Units. This hands-on experience provided a deep understanding of neonatal care and the unique needs of both infants and their families.
Over time, Chloe developed a passion for digital health, recognising the transformative potential of technology in improving clinical outcomes. This led to a career pivot into digital leadership. Currently, she works as a Neonatal Clinical Transformation Specialist, supporting neonatal units across the U.K and New Zealand in implementing and optimising BadgerNet EPR and Clinical Summary systems.
A Day in the Life
In her role, no two days are alike. Chloe provides clinical and digital leadership to healthcare teams, offering training, mentoring digital nurse champions, and collaborating with IT and clinical leads to ensure systems are tailored to the needs of both staff and patients. Whether delivering on-site training, troubleshooting system issues, or contributing to product development, Chloe is at the forefront of digital innovation in neonatal care.
Making a Difference
For Chloe, the most rewarding aspect of the role is seeing the impact of digital transformation on patient care. From improving data accuracy and accessibility to enhancing the continuity of care, she is driven by the knowledge that her work supports some of the most vulnerable patients in the healthcare system.
Empowering clinical staff is another key motivator. Through mentorship and training, Chloe helps nurses build confidence in using digital tools, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Advice for Aspiring Clinical Transformation Specialists
Chloe encourages aspiring digital leaders to first build a strong foundation in clinical practice. “Understanding the realities of patient care is essential,” she advises. Getting involved in local digital initiatives and being open to learning about clinical systems are great first steps. Most importantly, Chloe highlights the importance of bridging the gap between clinical and IT teams—emphasising communication, collaboration, and a shared vision for better care.
Looking Ahead
With a clear passion for innovation, Chloe is focused on continuing to shape the future of neonatal digital care.
“I’d love to contribute to shaping standards and best practices for digital transformation in neonatal services. I’m also interested in mentoring more clinical staff into digital roles, so we can build a future-ready workforce that truly understands both patient care and the power of digital solutions.”
