System C is a leading independent provider of IT implementation solutions for the healthcare sector in England, including NHS IT systems. It offers a range of design, implementation, project management, service delivery, training and support services. The Company has a long history of developing and providing healthcare related software applications, such as the MedWay PAS, to the UK healthcare sector including an integrated range of clinically based and patient focused software applications to provide Electronic Patient Records.
System C was established in 1983 as a developer of software application tools. In 1993, System C entered the healthcare market using its software expertise to develop a range of clinical and administrative systems mainly for use within hospitals. In 1996, the Company implemented its first clinical information systems and Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system in a contract for an NHS Trust.
In 1997, the Company won its first substantial order to supply its Electronic Patient Record system to another NHS Trust and to date, System C has provided healthcare and NHS IT services to over 100 NHS Trusts and has thereby gained an in-depth knowledge of IT software development and implementation within the NHS and the UK healthcare sector.
During 2002, the Government announced the proposed implementation of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT). The Company identified this as an opportunity to use its existing sector expertise to take advantage of the resulting high demand for IT skills and competencies in the healthcare sector.
In 2007, System C operates in this rapidly expanding market. With its main office in Maidstone and an additional office in Warrington, System C has over 150 employees, of which 80 per cent are involved in the provision of IT design, development, implementation, project management and support services to the UK healthcare sector. These healthcare specialists have an average of over 9 years' experience in the provision of IT design, development, implementation, and project management and support services to the healthcare sector. System C's services include: data migration, data cleansing and interfacing. In July this year the company acquired IQ Systems Services Ltd. The acquisition of IQ accelerates System C's expansion into the private healthcare market as well as strengthening its product portfolio.
System C is well positioned to play an increasingly important role in the continuing development of IT within the UK healthcare sector.
