System C Healthcare plc is the UK's premier healthcare solutions company. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2008, System C specialises in the provision of healthcare information systems, implementation services and consulting. Our aim is to help improve patient care through the effective use of IT solutions and innovative consulting services.
The Company has a long history of developing and providing healthcare related software applications. System C's product range includes advanced PAS/EPR systems for acute and mental hospitals and out of hospital treatment centres, a reporting and management information system configured specifically to support the healthcare sector, as well as clinical systems for order communications, A&E, theatres, maternity, diabetes care and other clinical specialities/conditions.
System C was established in 1983 as a developer of software application tools. In 1993, System C entered the healthcare market using its software expertise to develop a range of clinical and administrative systems mainly for use within hospitals. In 1996, the Company implemented its first clinical information systems and Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system in a contract for an NHS Trust.
In 1997, the Company won its first substantial order to supply its Electronic Patient Record system to another NHS Trust and to date, System C has provided healthcare and NHS IT services to over 180 NHS Trusts and hospitals and has thereby gained an in-depth knowledge of IT software development and implementation within the NHS and the UK healthcare sector.
During 2002, the Government announced the proposed implementation of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT). The Company identified this as an opportunity to use its existing sector expertise to take advantage of the resulting high demand for IT skills and competencies in the healthcare sector.
In 2008, System C operates in this rapidly expanding market. With its main office in Maidstone and additional offices in Warrington, Wimborne and Nottingham System C has over 200 employees, of which 80 per cent are involved in the provision of IT design, development, implementation, project management and support services to the UK healthcare sector. System C has one of the UK's largest teams of healthcare IT domain experts. System C's services include: data migration, data cleansing and interfacing. Over the last two years the company has acquired IQ Systems Services Ltd and Care Records Ltd. The acquisitions accelerate System C's expansion into the private healthcare and clinical systems markets as well as strengthening its product portfolio.
System C is well positioned to play an increasingly important role in the continuing development of IT within the UK healthcare sector.
