System C offers NHS Trusts faster and cheaper procurement route

System C has won a place on the NHS Shared Business Services’ new clinical information systems framework. The framework is designed to help NHS trusts save money and time by offering a streamlined procurement service. The framework is anticipated to be worth up to £1.25bn over six years.
System C is one of only two suppliers to have been awarded a place on the framework for all six lots. Lot one covers core clinical information systems, such as the company’s Medway PAS EPR. The other lots cover emergency care, theatres, child health, maternity and electronic prescribing systems.
“We are glad to be able to offer the NHS the flexibility to buy Medway and CarePlus products through this NHS SBS framework”, said Markus Bolton, joint chief executive of System C. Trusts like to use a range of methods to procure their clinical systems according to circumstances, and the SBS initiative is a welcome addition to these options.”
The framework supports contracts of up to seven years and the process itself will be available for the next four years, with an option to extend for a further two years.
