System C Appoints New Chair of the Board: Lars Marcher

8th July 2021

System C is pleased to announce that Lars Marcher has been appointed as the new System C chairman of the board. Marcher succeeds Marshall Haines, who recently retired after serving as chairman for the past seven years.

Marcher has more than 30 years’ international business experience, including at the helm of companies in the healthcare and technology sectors. He has been the head of three listed companies in the USA and Europe and has built up considerable experience managing global companies positively through growth periods. This includes 11 years as CEO of Ambu, which he transformed into a global leader in single use endoscopy. Today, he is non-executive director on several boards and business advisor to global healthcare corporations.

“It is a privilege to take on this role at such an exciting time for System C, as it embarks on the next phase of its growth,” said Marcher. “The needs of System C’s customers, people and other stakeholders are changing rapidly – largely driven by national policy changes, which bring together health and social care provision through new Integrated Care Systems. System C is in a unique position to respond to these changes in innovative ways that will provide long-lasting benefits to their health and social care customers and the population as a whole.”

Marcher’s appointment follows the announcement in February that CVC Capital Partners had become a major shareholder in System C, replacing US private equity firm Symphony Technology Group.

Markus Bolton, joint CEO of System C, said:

“Lars’s long history of leadership, coupled with his experience supporting global businesses with their strategic direction, and overseeing periods of rapid growth, makes him the ideal person for this role. I look forward to working closely with Lars to continue to ensure System C makes a positive impact for all stakeholders, including our health and social care customers, people and society.”

In his new System C role, Marcher will be working across both System C and its subsidiary company, Liquidlogic, the market leading supplier of social care case management solutions.

This leadership appointment coincides with a major recruitment drive across the System C & Graphnet Care Alliance. The Care Alliance’s expertise in hospital systems, shared care records, care co-ordination platforms, social care solutions and population health management puts it at the forefront of delivering the technology required by Integrated Care Systems.
