Preferred Bidder Award: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust selects Medway PAS from System C, a McKesson company
17th July 2012
Andrew Fearn, Director of ICT at NUH, said: “We are pleased to confirm System C, a McKesson company, as our preferred bidder to supply and implement a new patient administration system across our hospitals. This takes us one step closer to achieving a full electronic health record for patients in Nottingham.
“The development of the Medway Patient Administration System for NUH will significantly improve the way we administer information about our patients, helping us to provide a higher quality service. It will enable us to communicate more effectively with our patients with text message reminders for appointments, speed up care and reduce waits with the introduction of more self-check in kiosks in our hospitals.
“We are pleased to partner with System C in this significant development. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with System C and McKesson to develop a new IT system which will ensure Nottingham University Hospitals remains at the cutting-edge of healthcare ICT.
“This announcement follows a rigorous, 12 month procurement process to select a system and preferred partner. The new system will support our hospitals and bring benefits to the wider health community, including easier sharing of information between clinicians.
“We are committed to running all of our support services efficiently and the new system represents excellent value for money. We expect the contract to be signed this Summer. The deployment of the new PAS will start in September 2012, with a go-live date of Autumn 2013.”
