HSJ Modernising Healthcare Summit: Enacting change at scale and pace

19th April 2017 to 20th April 2017 at Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire

The System C & Graphnet Care Alliance will be conducting a workshop on day one entitled: The next generation of shared records: new models of care for STPs

The HSJ Modernising Healthcare Summit provides a welcome dose of optimism and inspiration to contrast with the daily pressures facing the NHS and its leadership. You’ll have the headspace to learn about new solutions in a relaxed environment.

The summit focuses on the technologies, innovations and improvements that will have a transformative effect on our future healthcare system for the better.

The 2017 summit will focus on a series of issues that will shape the NHS of the future. This includes talks on artificial intelligence, behavioural insights and generational theory delivered by Google DeepMind’s co-founder Mustafa Suleyman, BIT’s CEO David Halpern and Dr Paul Redmond from the University of Manchester respectively.

The next generation of shared records: new models of care for STP areas and care communities

Day one • 17.20

Hear from NHS colleagues about the next phase in information sharing – how to use shared record systems as a springboard to transform service delivery.

The benefits of having a single patient record available at the point of care are well understood. The next phase is all about what the NHS and social care can go on to do with that shared information.

This is a practical workshop where senior NHS practitioners outline their own experiences. It will cover:

  • Deploying shared records at scale
  • Handling IG issues across multiple organisations
  • Integrating instant messaging, alerting and Skype communications across a care community
  • Creating integrated care plans for the frail and elderly, and patients with long term conditions
  • Integrating patient portals, wearables and machine learning to drive patient engagement

Delivered by:
Ed Montgomery, director of community services provider Your Healthcare, operational lead for the Kingston Health Record
Dr Rupert Page, consultant neurologist & CCIO at Poole NHS Foundation Trust
John Glover, SRO Cheshire Care Record, director of IM&T at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Markus Bolton, System C & Graphnet Care Alliance
