Overview
System C developers impact millions of people every day through our range of healthcare software systems. Used extensively throughout the NHS, you might be wondering why you have never heard of us – we pay far more attention to our software delivering value than shouting about our latest contracts.
We are looking for a talented and experienced DevOps architect to join our Architecture team.
The person we are looking for will need to have 2+ years of commercial experience with Azure, who can demonstrate a real passion for cloud architecture, with a flexible and creative attitude, good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Working within an existing team that is focused on creating a scalable and resilient cloud hosting model, the individual will have a workload covering (but not limited to):
- Developing and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines
- Automation of infrastructure and software rollout
- Performance analysis and tuning
- Security reviews and risk mitigation
- Maintaining high availability of services
- Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and advising how they can be used to improve the existing architecture

Experience and skills required:
- Understanding of cloud architecture concepts and best practises
- Experience with building resilient and fault tolerant solutions
- Building secure networked solutions
- Proven experience with Azure DevOps
- A thorough understanding of Azure components. Key areas:
- AKS (scaling, resilience, management, security, monitoring and telemetry)
- Service Endpoints and Private Links
- Networking (Azure CNI)
- Containerisation
Advantageous:
- Nginx
- Solid understanding of HELM & Powershell
- Blue/Green deployments via AKS
- Infrastructure as Code/ARM templates
- Bash/Powershell/Azure CLI
- Threat modelling
- Azure SQL
- Strategies for high availability and disaster recovery
- Monitoring/scaling/automation
- Data factory
