Chairman (non exec)
Marshall Haines is managing director of Symphony Technology Group, the US-based specialist investor in software and information technology companies which invested in System C in July 2014.
Marshall has extensive operating, strategy and investing experience with STG, and previously with TPG Capital and Bain Capital. He leads Symphony’s healthcare technology investing efforts in Europe.
Dr Ian Denley
Ian is responsible for corporate affairs, research and development and the overall running of the company. He has over 25 years’ experience in the software industry, with the last 15 specialising in healthcare.
Ian has led a number of public and private companies in the health and social care sectors as CEO or chairman, most recently co-founding Shearwater Healthcare Investments and Shearwater Systems with Markus Bolton. He is also chairman of Graphnet Health.
This is now Ian’s second stint as chief executive of System C - he left the company the first time following its sale to McKesson in 2011. During his previous tenure, Ian oversaw the development of the Medway product suite, a number of strategic acquisitions including that of Liquidlogic, the company’s flotation on AIM and its sale to McKesson.
Markus is responsible for sales, strategy and deployment services. Markus has over thirty years’ experience as a director of IT companies and he co-founded System C in 1983.
This is Markus’s second stint as a director of System C. Previously he helped design the Sycero 4th Generation Programming Language, he took the company into the health sector, he set up and managed the company’s services and consulting group and was responsible for all PAS and EPR sales.
Markus is co-founder of company accelerator Shearwater Healthcare Investments, he is also a director of Graphnet Health and mobile computing specialist Shearwater Systems.
Chief Operating Officer
Responsible for System C and Graphnet Care Alliance, working alongside Joint CEOs across the businesses on strategy, delivery and business development.
Beverley was previously Director of Digital Transformation at NHS Digital and Director of Digital Technology at NHS England, responsible for the delivery of the Technology Funds, Local Digital Roadmaps and Digital Maturity, NHS e-Referrals, Patient Online and Electronic Prescriptions. She was Managing Director of Health at Capita, and has worked in performance improvement and operational roles in big-five consulting companies, the Department of Health and the NHS. Her most notable achievement at the Department of Health was the creation of NHS Choices in 2007.
Antony is responsible for financial stability across the System C and Graphnet Care Alliance. He has over 25 years’ experience in senior finance roles including UK Finance Manager at McKesson for the Electronic Staff Record (NHS England HR/Payroll), Finance Director for Dr Foster and positions within the tourism and telecoms equipment industries.
Operational Board Directors
Chris joined System C in 2000 and has worked in areas such as business analysis and design, product management, release management, service delivery, clinical safety and product (quality) assurance. He is our functional and technical architect across all our solutions, responsible for ensuring that customers and industry requirements are met by our product portfolio.
Director of Clinical Solutions
Hayley worked in the NHS for over 25 years before joining System C in 2005. Since then, Hayley has held senior management roles in professional services and support and service delivery. Hayley became managing director of VitalPAC, a System C company, before moving to her current role where she has responsibility for all clinical products.
Director of HR and Administration
Jane is an FCIPD qualified HR professional with over 30 years’ experience. She was one of System C’s first employees in 1985 and is responsible for all areas of HR and corporate administration, Jane is also our company secretary.
Dr Jon Shaw
Director of Clinical Strategy and Design
Jon combines 12 years’ experience in the NHS as a hospital doctor and surgeon with a background of entrepreneurship and software development. He was co-founder and managing director of the award-winning care co-ordination platform CareFlow Connect which was acquired by System C in 2016. He is now responsible for ensuring our products are designed with the clinical end-user in mind and leverage the latest digital technologies.
Judi has been with System C since its very early days and has held a variety of marketing and business development leadership positions within the company. Today Judi is responsible for all commercial matters including sales contracting, bids and tendering, partner relationships and pricing.
Kenny has over 30 years’ experience in the health technology industry, having worked in the NHS for 18 years as a software developer and IM&T manager. He has been with System C for 12 years as a programme manager, account director and now customer director. Kenny is responsible for the delivery of our blueprint solution to customers including our Global Digital Exemplar and Fast Follower partners.
Director of Communications
Nicky is responsible for communications across the System C & Graphnet Care Alliance. She has been managing communications at System C since 1990. Nicky leads on corporate and financial PR and is also responsible for the company’s strategic positioning and marketing communications.
Sarah joined System C in 2007 and has over 20 years’ experience of account and project management. Her roles at System C have included being director of delivery and support, overseeing the delivery of programmes from sales handover to deployment verification. Sarah is now a customer director, responsible for ensuring that our customer relationships are maintained at the highest levels and that customer satisfaction is prioritised.
Chief Technology Officer
Simon has over 30 years’ experience in software development and has been developing health and social care solutions for over 20 years. His principle skills are technical leadership, software architecture and development. Simon has been with System C since its very early days and is a vendor representative on the board of INTEROPen.
Lawrence has been System C’s legal counsel since 2002. Prior to that he was a partner with Whitehead Monckton solicitors.
