Implementation and Product Specialists

Implementation and Product Specialists work as a member of System C and client project teams to enable the successful implementation of the product solution/application in line with the client's business needs.

Implementation and Product specialists may have expertise in many of the listed areas below, but given the breadth of the role description are likely to be more experienced and capable in a subset of the listed attributes.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support sales/demand generation activities through provision of demos, workshops, functional overviews etc.
  • Undertake product solution demonstrations for the client clearly presenting the benefits of the solution
  • Participate in project planning activities, taking responsibility for detailed configuration, benefits and process change planning at all stages of the project i.e. input to PID and in-flight stage plans.
  • Working with the client, undertake a gap analysis exercise to identify and ensure the product solution / application can absorb all current and future operational procedures
  • Support the client in the production of a Process Change Plan to enable the product solution to be utilised to maximum effect.
  • Undertake configuration design workshops, ensuring management and control of the build, with regular reviews and issue resolution.
  • Provide client with appropriate documentation/templates e.g. configuration build workbook/s, role based access mapping documents, process change plan, gap analysis document etc
  • Participate in application design activities. Conducting workshops gathering user requirements and documenting them.
  • Develop deployment or design process tools.
  • Work with System C and client project teams to facilitate a smooth implementation of the product solution and any associated 3rd party integrated software solutions
  • Support product solution training as required. (train the trainer & end user)
  • Preparation and maintenance of training documentation to support product training
  • Devise testing plans, test scripts and schedules to ensure the product solution is fit for purpose and go-live
  • Support the testing and maintenance of new product solution releases and where appropriate escalate software issues and assist with resolution
  • Some projects may include involvement in the development, maintenance and production of documentation relating to the use of ad-hoc data collection tools for client sites
  • Assist with data migration where required recognising configuration issues and ensuring resolve
  • Provide post go-live support including floor-walking end user support.


Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Experience working in or for the NHS
  • Thorough understanding of the operational procedures within the relevant area of health care experience and a broad understanding of the health care processes in other areas.
  • Understanding of the importance of the data collection and reporting requirements of NHS and/or independent sector health service providers.
  • Whilst formal qualifications are not a pre-requisite, evidence of continuous personal development is an essential compliment to experience.

Experience

  • Health care domain experience is a key attribute of the System C team and essential to our effectiveness.
  • Significant experience (probably 2 years + as a minimum) in the health care systems related work, IT role or Medical/Clinical disciplines combined with systems experience.
  • A successful and proven track record of delivery and effectiveness.
  • Client facing experience, on a spectrum from participation in delivery activities to managing personnel, negotiating and issue/conflict resolution.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing
  • Ability to organise and co-ordinate areas of work for yourself and others
  • Self-starter with determination and motivation to succeed.
  • Ability to influence, organise and plan
  • Ability to work within project constraints to ensure that milestones and delivery dates are met
