Data Migration / Data Cleansing

System C Healthcare has extensive experience in data cleansing and data migration. We have some 40 people who have managed and delivered these types of project on behalf of individual trusts, local health communities and LSP's and we have performed data migration from all of the UK's major PAS systems. Our team also includes a number of staff with a NHS Information Authority background with 80+ years' data cleansing experience between them.

Typically, an enterprise-wide local NCRS solution will replace a Trust's main Patient Administration System (PAS). In some cases two or more PAS databases are to be merged and migrated to the new system. There can also be a number of departmental systems (such as A&E, radiology and theatres) and a wide range of stand-alone clinical systems whose data must also be taken into the new system.

Data Cleansing and data migration of this kind is a complex process. The data concerned can be highly sensitive and clinically relevant and thus this is a high risk area. Time and time again we have found that inadequate integration between legacy systems, poor data quality and the age of these systems presents a range of challenges to those charged with the task of gathering, cleaning, verifying, transforming and exporting this data.

System C has encountered and overcome all of these challenges and has worked with a number of clients including Trusts migrating to new systems under the National Programme for IT (NPfIT).

We can help with the following areas:

System C data cleansing and data migration specialists are available as a team to manage and provide an end-to-end service to an organisation undertaking such a migration, or as individuals to work on specific parts of the process as appropriate.
