Data Migration
You’re in good hands with System C’s data migration experience.
System C has extensive experience in data migration tools, planning, developing and executing complex data migration software, transform and load (ETL) projects. The data migration services include situations where historical and current data must be extracted from more than one source system, merged, mapped and uploaded onto the new system.
Successful data migration software success relies upon an intimate understanding of the data structures in both the source and target systems. In a healthcare setting, the data involved in data migration is highly sensitive, and incorrectly migrated data poses a clinical risk, making this is critical area for any implementation. System C employs over twenty suitably experienced and qualified data migration experts and our staff have successfully performed data migration from the majority of the UK's leading PAS systems.
System C can provide a range of data migration services aimed at improving the quality of the data stored in Trusts' patient management systems. For example we can assist NHS organisations with data migration tools or with planning to replace their legacy PAS systems in reaching a target of 95% of active patient records with a verified (status 01) NHS Number.
More about the experience of System C and data migration
System C Healthcare has extensive experience in data cleansing and data migration testing. We have some forty people who have managed and delivered these types of data migration project on behalf of individual trusts, local health communities and LSP's and we have performed data migration for all of the UK's major PAS systems.
The data migration team of experts
Our data migration team also includes a number of staff with a NHS Information Authority background with 80+ years' data cleansing and data migration experience between them.
Typically, with data migration an enterprise-wide local NCRS solution will replace a Trust's main Patient Administration System (PAS). In some cases two or more PAS databases are to be merged along with data migration to the new system.
There can also be a number of departmental systems (such as A&E, radiology and theatres) and a wide range of stand-alone clinical systems where data migration must also take place in the new system.
Data cleansing and data migration is a complex process. The data concerned for data migration can be highly sensitive and clinically relevant and thus this is a high risk area.
Times when data migration is needed by an organisation
Time and time again when doing data migration we have found that inadequate integration between legacy systems, poor data quality and the age of these systems presents a range of challenges to those charged with the task of gathering, cleaning, verifying, transforming and data migration.
System C has encountered and overcome all of these data migration challenges and has worked with a number of clients including Trusts with data migration to new systems under the National Programme for IT.
The different ways in which System C’s services can help
We can help with the following areas:
System C data cleansing and data migration specialists are available as a team to manage and provide an end-to-end service.
This is usually for an organisation undertaking such a data migration, or as individuals to work on specific parts of the process as appropriate.
