System C is committed to helping healthcare providers deliver high quality and safe patient care. 

The Medway product range has been specifically designed to help improve clinical quality, patient safety and the patient experience.  Based on the latest Microsoft technology, Medway uses the CUI design controls developed by Microsoft, in partnership with the NHS, to create a new generation of safer, more accessible healthcare systems.

Key safety functions implemented across the whole Medway range include:

• Positive patient ID, close to the patient
• A single integrated patient record
• In-built workflow support
• Patient-level links to other systems (EDMS, PACS etc)
• Alerts
• Automated SMS texts, letters, emails – including discharge summaries
• Clinical decision support within order communications, results reporting, prescribing and clinical systems
• Integration with primary care IT systems

System C’s accredited clinical safety officer oversees the company’s own internal clinical safety management processes, to ensure that all identified clinical risks are effectively ‘designed out’ of the Medway product range. 

The Medway software has a certificate of compliance with DSCN 14/2009 (Application of patient safety risk management to the manufacture of health software), mandated by the NHS Information Standards Board.
